When lit and placed safely and securely in one of Hot Trails lanterns (sold separately), it can burn for up to 5 hours, emitting full-strength scent from start to finish. Hunters have observed deer picking up the scent from more than 500 yards downwind of the candle, drawing them in close. The packaging is air-tight to keep the scent contained.
